HLTAID011 is the most comprehensive first aid course available. It includes CPR certification (HLTAID009), basic emergency life support (HLTAID010), plus advanced first aid skills including wound care, fracture management, medical emergency response, and incident reporting. This is the minimum requirement for workplace first aid compliance in Australia.

How long does the course take to complete?

The course is delivered in a blended format with approximately 6 hours of self-paced online learning followed by 6 hours of face-to-face practical training and assessment. You can complete the online component at your own pace over multiple sessions before attending the classroom portion.

How long is my certification valid?

HLTAID011 certification is valid for 3 years. However, Safe Work Australia recommends refreshing your CPR skills annually. The included HLTAID009 CPR component should be renewed every 12 months, while the full first aid certification lasts 36 months.

What are the physical requirements for the course?

Students must demonstrate the ability to perform at least 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on an adult manikin placed on the floor. If you have any physical limitations that might affect your ability to complete the practical assessment, please contact us before booking to discuss accommodations.

When will I receive my certificate?

Upon successful completion of training and assessment, you’ll receive your PDF Statement of Attainment via email the same day. This requires you to have provided a verified USI (Unique Student Identifier) and completed all required assessments.

What’s the difference between HLTAID009 and HLTAID011?

HLTAID009 focuses specifically on CPR and basic life support techniques, while HLTAID011 is a comprehensive first aid course that includes CPR plus extensive training in wound care, fracture management, medical emergencies, incident reporting, and psychological first aid. HLTAID011 includes HLTAID009 within it.
